One of my very best good friends, Dakota, was married recently, and when she listed her registry, I asked what she really wanted the most. Absolutely shocked by her response was…a custom drawing of their wedding venue. I immediately hopped on Instagram to see what the venue looked like, as she sent me her favorite shots from the page. We decided on this view.

I, being the stubborn person I am, insisted I was going to make this completely in black and white, except with a colorful sunset sky. Dakota told me that the whole thing would be in color. No skimping on this one. So, this is kind of two reference photos in one. There was this angle in one photo, and another with the water tower and sunset. So, I mushed them together. I’m an artist, it’s called artistic license baby. 😉 I could not be happier that she talked me into full color. The angle, the depth of color, and the memories of one of the most beautiful, perfect weddings, it just sits with me every time I look at this piece.
And, if you think she has wonderful taste…she should. She’s an amazing graphic designer and photographer, and her website is here: Dakota Deanne Photography
