Our neighbor recently re-roofed their home. As they have two little girls, the discussion arose to the proper roof color to match the house. The girls decided on blue. Bright blue. The house is brick in color (siding, not actual brick), so clearly, bright blue would not work, so charcoal/black was chosen. I had an idea! I would draw their home, and give Annabelle the colors she really wanted on her home. i set to work drawing, but became selfish in that I did not want a bright blue roof either. So…I drew the house in black and white and scanned it. I finished the home in color, as it stands today. I took the black and white scan and thickened the lines, copied it about 10 times, and put it aside.
The neighbors got a beautiful drawing of their home (which they matted and framed) and Annabelle got a small coloring book of black and white prints that she could color in any way she saw fit.
